Canterbury United’s academy team capped a red letter day for Canterbury football by blitzing Waitakere United 6-0 in the final of the Lion Foundation Youth League at English Park in Christchurch today.

Reigning Lion Foundation Youth League champions Auckland City will not get the chance to defend their title after being held to a 1-1 draw with Auckland-Manukau, who joined Canterbury, Waitakere and Wellington in the semi-finals.
