The New Zealand Football Championship (NZFC), also known as Te Whakataetae Whutupaoro a Aotearoa in Māori, was the top men’s association football league in New Zealand. It was established in 2004 as a successor to several short-lived football leagues in the country, including the National Soccer League, National Summer Soccer League, and New Zealand Superclub League. The competition followed a franchise system and was contested by ten teams, with the ISPS Handa Men’s Premiership serving as its sponsor.

The NZFC was a professional football league that ran from October through to April each year. It consisted of an eighteen-round regular season followed by a playoff series involving the four highest-placed teams, culminating in a Grand Final.
